The Best Tips and Tricks for Perfect Nails
Im the kind of girl who loves giving herself a manicure and pedicure. However, being the clumsy noob that I am it doesnt always come out as I expected. Until one day I realized that you can use everyday items to help you obtain the perfect paint-job your nails deserve.
You probably heard on multiple occasions the words petroleum jelly and nails all in one sentence. This is mostly because when petroleum jelly is applied on the skin around your nails you will prevent the nail polish from actually getting on your skin. This trick was perfect for me as Im a huge mess every time I paint my own nails.
Weve all experienced the annoyance of chipped nails. This would happen to me even a day after painting my nails and I got so mad and I had to do them all over again. Then I noticed how theres a simple trick for preventing chipped nails. All you have to do is paint two basecoat layers: one on the top half of your nail and the second coat over the entire nail. Thats all you have to do and youll be free from the annoyance of chipped nails.
Make Your Nail Polish Pop
All you have to do is apply a coat of white nail polish on your nails and you will truly get the actual color of the nail polish. The natural color your nails have will slightly change the color of the nail polish. Thats why the end result doesnt always look like the color of the nail polish inside its bottle.
Paper Hole Reinforcement Stickers
This idea is perfect if you want to do some really cool designs on your nail. Ive done this multiple times and the result keeps getting better and better!
Use Tape for Designs
With tape you can do all sorts of creative designs. You can do triangles, stripes, you can even make a perfect French nail.
Cosmopolitan says the following: Choose an accent finger and tape underneath and around your nail to protect your skin. Next, fill a small paper cup with filtered, room-temperature water. Grab two different colors of paint and add drops of each polish into the cup of water, alternating paints each time. Once you’ve added a few drops, grab an open paper clip and swirl the layers together to create the design you want. Then, stick your finger into the cup with your nail facing the paint layer.
Now you must hold your finger in the cup for a few seconds, use your paper clip to gather the rest of the paint away from your finger. Pull your finger out of the water and clean up the edges for the finished look.
Soak Nails in Ice-Cold Water
This simple trick will make your nails dry a lot quicker! In just a matter of seconds they will be completely dry. You wont have to wait too long for your nails to dry up thanks to this trick. This was perfect for me especially in times where I was in a hurry to go anywhere or to do something.
